Dwell on Design is returning to the Los Angeles Convention Center this week, April 5-7. For three full days, this important design fair will gather industry professionals working in all realms alongside design enthusiasts for an incredible sensory experience. This year will welcome influential keynote speakers, exciting educational opportunities, a fresh pre-fab home, the debut of the Living Vehicle, exciting products, and exclusive off-site events.
This year, Dwell on Design is excited to welcome five keynote speakers to the main stage, all prominent figures in their fields; Jonathan Adler, Karim Rashid, Paula Wallace, Janet Echelman, and Seph Lawless. Each will be presenting on various topics from commercial design to photography to historic preservation and education. Select speakers will also be signing copies of their latest publications at the popular Hennessey + Ingalls Reading Room, directly across from the main stage. Also appearing on the Main Stage, is the Design etc. Podcast, which goes LIVE at Dwell on Design on Saturday, April 7 bringing the informal, conversational style interviews of design visionaries to the Main Stage on Saturday, April 7 at 2:15pm. At the intersection of technology and food, connected housewares is a rapidly emerging industry as consumers slowly embrace the Internet of Things. Karma Automotive will have the Karma Revero at Dwell on Design 2018. In addition to car features around the event, Karma is offering a Ride & Drive experience to design influencers and invited guests. Karma’s global headquarters is in Orange County and their factory is only 90 minutes away in Moreno Valley. There are many vehicles you can drive on the Pacific Coast Highway, but none have been purposely crafted like the Revero to make the most of its wonderful twists and turns.
An innovative leader in pre-fab residences, Method Homes returns for its sixth year to the Dwell Outdoor Pavilion-showcasing their top of the line LEED certified two bed, two bath home, featuring appliances by Perlick, decking by LANAI, and interiors by designer Jennifer Farrell. Dwell on Design is excited to have television host and lifestyle expert Jennifer Farrell as the designer for the Method Homes show home. Jennifer is a familiar face to audiences who have enjoyed her makeover shows and home furnishings. Jennifer became nationally known hosting the long-running A&E home improvement series “Find and Design.” She has also hosted A&E’s “Point, Click, Design” as well as “The Big Fix,” where she shares fun, easy design tips. But her most popular venture has been The Jennifer Farrell Collection, featuring hundreds of furniture and décor pieces at nearly 1400 stores nationwide.
Esteemed Architect Dan Brunn will be previewing The Bridge House, a 200-foot-long residence in Hancock Park, Los Angeles that will span a brook which runs through the grounds and embodies innovations in technology, architecture and lifestyle. The home marks a decade long partnership between Dan Brunn Architecture and Dwell, and is constructed of BONE Structure, a precise, modular steel system. Dwell on Design in collaboration with Design Milk and Modenus proudly present the LA Design Trail. The trail includes shops, showrooms, and individual artisan and artists studios in and around Melrose Ave and La Cienega Blvd, as well as Downtown LA and East LA. Participating businesses are listed in a specially designed Trail Map. Visit each location and drop off your business card for an opportunity to win a trip to the Interior Design Show (IDS) in Vancouver, Canada in September 2018.
