Communiqué seulement en anglais
The Toronto Design Offsite Festival (TO DO) is an annual city-wide platform for the exhibition and engagement of design in Toronto, showcasing unexpected prototypes, immersive installations, and unique programming, January 19-25, 2015. Each year the Festival provides exposure for the country’s most promising designers and introduces the public to the practice of design with events featuring great thinkers, practitioners, and educators. From studios to shops to galleries and national institutions, you’ll find installations, open studios, film screenings, design talks, covetable objects and more.
Celebrating it's largest and most successful year to-date, TO DO 15 showcased the unique diversity of Canada’s energetic design scene with 78 events, exhibitions, and window installations across the city. The success of TO DO 15 - full house attendance for all talks and panels, a record number of participants and exhibitions, and more - was covered by numerous media outlets, from newspapers such as The Globe and Mail and Toronto Star, to industry publications such as Designlines, Azure and Magazine Intérieurs, and online at BlogTO and Toronto Life.
TO DO 15 is pleased to recognize this year’s best and brightest designers by organizing the third annual TO DO Awards presented by Herman Miller. An invited jury of design professionals vote for awards in two “Best in Festival” categories and “Juror’s Choice”, while the public votes for four “People’s Choice” awards. Selected winners are awarded with iconic Herman Miller design pieces, and “Best in Festival” is presented with press kit services from v2com. The TO DO Awards were juried January 23, 2015, and the full list of award winners made public January 30, 2015.
This year’s two “Best in Festival” winners, and the recipient of a Herman Miller design piece and v2com press kit services, are:
Best in Festival: Exhibition
‘In a Space’ at Come Up To My Room
Best in Festival: New Work
Herb pots by Anderssen & Voll at Anderssen & Voll, Mjolk
A full list of award winners is available here, and the full 2015 Festival schedule here.
