MisoSoupDesign, Taipei based design studio let by Daisuke Nagatomo and Minnie Jan, announced that one of their latest product won the Platinum A’Design Award in Furniture, Decorative Items and Home ware Design competition Category. Nagatomo and Jan re-imagined a structural system made with 100% recyclable cardboard sheets that can be assembled without any hardware or glue. The Spiral Stool is the flat packed, self-assembly cardboard stool that could support up to 100 kg weight.

 

The Platinum A' Design Award is a prestigious award given to top 1% percentile designs that has exhibited an exemplary level of excellence in design. Entries to the A' Furniture Design Awards are peer reviewed and anonymously judged by a grand expert jury panel of prominent academics, influential press members and experienced professionals. “A’Design Award in Furniture design category is highly competitive. There were hundreds of entry in this category this year, and only 4 designs were given Platinum level.” Said Daisuke Nagatomo, the design director of MisoSoupDesign, also recipient of Designer of the Year (IAD-International Association of Designers)
