RIFF 2013 International architecture Expo Conference, with arch. Stephen Hodder

ABplus Events & the Order of Architects of Romania

RIFF - International Architecture Expo Conference will take place on November 11 and 12, 2013 in JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel. Now at its fourth edition, the event aims to promote quality and excellence in architecture and construction. RIFF 2013 is dedicated to architects, planners, designers and specialised companies that provide professional solutions for architecture. This year, RIFF will bring together over 400 architects, designers and specialized companies.
Within the 4th edition of RIFF, the participation of all architects members of/affiliated with a professional organization is free of charge, subject to availability.

Structure: conference and exhibition
General topics: roofs, facades and insulations
Program: plenary sessions, specialized sections, exhibition
Special Guest: Arch. Stephen Hodder, President of the Royal Institute of British Architects
Stephen Hodder was educated at the School of Architecture, University of Manchester, where he gained a Distinction in the Bachelor of Architecture degree.
Following University he joined Building Design Partnership in 1981 and became a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects in 1982. He has been in practice since 1983 and in 1992 formed Hodder Associates.
Stephen Hodder is winner of the ‘American Institute of Architects’ Award and of 5 RIBA Awards.
In the two days of the event, architects can participate in presentations of architectural projects that have been highly-awarded in international competitions in the past year, in thematic workshops on architecture facades and roofs, as well as a thematic exhibition of companies with advanced solutions for architecture. The event is part of a series of international architecture events organized by ABplus Events and the Order of Architects of Romania, alongside INGLASS (glass architecture and engineering) and GIS (interior architecture and design, product design, lighting design and engineering).

THE ORDER OF THE ARCHITECTS OF ROMANIA
The Order of the Architects of Romania promotes competition, competence, creativity in this profession, efforts at a sustainable high-quality architecture that includes state of the art technological solutions, architecture that integrates into the existing built environment, respecting nature, resources and the specific and cultural heritage of the communities. All architects and lead architects with signature rights, trainee architects and intern lead architects and all members with the title “architect”, at their request, can become part of the Order of the Architects of Romania. At present, the Order of the Architects of Romania includes a number of approximately 6000 members.
