World Architecture Festival 2025: Day Two Winners Announced

World Architecture Festival

Londres, Royaume-Uni, 14-11-2025 -  The second round of award winners of the 2025 World Architecture Festival (WAF) have been announced, following Day Two of the world’s largest international live-judged architectural event, being held at Miami Beach Convention Center, Florida.
 

In total, the three-day festival will see over 460 live pitches from the 2025 finalists in front of over 160 international judges. Today has seen shortlisted projects from around the world compete for 21 award categories within Completed Buildings, Future Projects, and Interiors. Award winners include OMA, Sordo Madaleno, Studio Arthur Casas and NIKKEN SEKKEI.


Category Award Winners: COMPLETED BUILDINGS  


  • Display: Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025 Japan Pavilion by NIKKEN SEKKEI LTD in Yumeshima, Osaka City, Japan
    Chicken Hero Pavilion by RAD+ar in Jakarta, Indonesia, and Netherlands Pavilion Expo 2025 Osaka by RAU Architects and Tellart in Osaka, Japan were highly commended.
  • Health: AGNES Kantonsspital Baden by Nickl & Partner Architekten Schweiz AG in Baden, Switzerland
  • Higher Education & Research: Munarra Centre for Regional Excellence by ARM Architecture in Shepparton, Australia
    University of Chicago John W. Boyer Center in Paris by Studio Gang in France was highly commended.
  • Hotel & Leisure supported by GROHE: Poodom Deqin Meri Hotel by BUZZ | Büro Ziyu Zhuang in Diqing, China
    Mandai Rainforest Resort by WOW Architects | Warner Wong design in Singapore and Populus by Studio Gang in Denver, United States, were highly commended.
  • Mixed-Use: Republica by Marc Koehler Architects in Amsterdam, Netherlands
    The Singapore EDITION and Boulevard 88 by Safdie Architects in Singapore was highly commended.
  • Transport: Central Station Sydney by Woods Bagot in collaboration with John McAslan + Partners in Sydney, Australia

Judges of this year’s Completed Buildings categories said: “Clearly impactful, genius architectural invention” and “it exemplifies architecture’s power to catalyse positive change.”

  • Commercial Mixed-Use: LONE LUNG SPACE by Gayathri and Namith Architects in Bengaluru, India
    458 Oxford Street by Pilbrow & Partners in London, UK was highly commended.
  • Competition Entries: Where Earth Remembered: An Axis Of Heritage and Hope by Eade Va Ejra in Bam, Iran
    School of Fish by Perkins&Will in Saudi Arabia, and Napoli Porta Est by Studio Egret West and Lombardini 22 in Naples, Italy were highly commended.
  • Culture: Qiddiya Performing Arts Centre by Tom Wiscombe Architecture in Qiddiya, Saudi Arabia
    Tofino Fish Pier by Leckie Studio Architecture + Design Inc in Tofino, Canada was highly commended.  
  • Education: Canadian School by Sordo Madaleno in Cholula, Puebla, Mexico 
    Balvanam by Tezuka Architects in Ahmedabad, India, and Quartet of Learning by MARZ Design and Architecture, ARSH4D STUDIO in Bandar-e Deylam, Iran were highly commended.
  • Experimental: “The Other City: Reimagining Gulf Labor Camps as Creative Campuses” by Design and More International in Dubai, United Arab Emirates
    Neural Palate Kueh (Tasting Architecture with AI) by Artificial-Architecture, Singapore University of Technology and Design in Singapore was highly commended.
  • Health: International Children's Cancer Research Centre by Adjaye Associates in Kyebi, Ghana
  • House: Dune House by Monk Mackenzie Architects in Te Arai, Auckland, New Zealand
  • Residential: The Perigon by OMA in Miami, Florida, United States

Judges of this year’s Future Projects categories commented: “This conceptual project addresses a sensitive issue of inequality through a smart and creative strategy” and “the project's ambition is impressive and the architect’s empathetic understanding of place and culture comes through in multiple ways.”


Category Award Winners: INTERIORS


  • Bars & Restaurants: Apsara Cruise by Studio Locomotive in Bangkok, Thailand 
    Roast and Toast (“Sustainable café interior rooted in Biophilic and craft centric values.”) by tHE gRID Architects in AHMEDABAD, India was highly commended.
  • Education: BS Klim Op Zandbergen by Rosan Bosch Studio in Zandbergen, Belgium
    Interdisciplinary Health and Community Services Simulation Centre by Stantec in Winnipeg, Canada was highly commended.
  • Public Buildings: FRACTAL CHAPEL at State Hospital Graz by INNOCAD architecture in Graz, Austria
    Klaipėda State Music Theatre by MAMA architects in Klaipėda, Lithuania, and Aatma Manthan Museum by Sanjay Puri Architects in Nathdwara, Rajasthan, India were highly commended.
  • Residential (single dwelling): Angra House by Studio Arthur Casas in Angra dos Reis, Brazil
    Patios House by Studio mk27 in Mangaratiba, Brazil was highly commended.
  • Retail: Digikala Flagship Store by MARZ Design and Architecture in Tehran, Iran
    Intrinsic by Chain10 Architecture & Interior Design Institute in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan was highly commended.
  • Temporary/Meanwhile Use: Satah (सतह) by tHE gRID Architects in Ahmedabad, India

Judges of this year’s Interiors categories commented: “An excellent example of modern technology with traditional construction techniques” and “a project which fundamentally impacts those it accommodates transcending the boundaries of art and science.”


World Architecture Festival Day Three  
Tomorrow, on the final day of the festival, prize winners across all 43 categories winners announced so far will compete for the ultimate accolades of World Building of the Year, World Interior of the Year, and Future Project of the Year. Landscape of the Year will also be revealed.
 
All the overall winners will be announced at a grand finale Gala Dinner at Miami Beach Convention Center, along with a host of Special Prizes, including the Sustainability Prize, on November 14.
