Architizer, the largest online platform for architecture, announces the official opening of the 14th Annual Architizer A+Awards, honoring the year’s best buildings and spaces.
The Architizer A+Awards is the world’s largest and most democratic architectural awards program, and celebrates the extraordinary work of designers in over 85 countries worldwide. Now in its 14th season, the program returns to one of architecture’s most fundamental values: craft.
“The A+ Awards showcase the value of precision, materiality, and craftsmanship...architecture’s power resides not just in bold gestures, but in the depth of thought behind every junction, material choice, and spatial experience,” says Saul Kim, Director, Saul Kim Studio.
As the pace of digital change accelerates, architects are asking urgent questions about their place in an increasingly automated world. This year’s theme highlights the architects who put human ingenuity at the center of their work, connecting design to labor, material to place, and buildings to the people who make and use them. Whether working with humble resources or cutting-edge tools, today’s leading architects are crafting a new era of architecture through their care and precision—at every typology, scale, and region of the globe.
"This era is marked by a palpable shift towards spaces that embody genuine livability, warmth, and tactile richness," notes Ismail Seleit, Design Technologist, Foster + Partner. "The A+Awards exemplify an emerging ethos: architecture not as a monumental statement, but as a sensitive response to context, material authenticity, and the rhythms of daily life."
The 14th A+Awards maintains its commitment to the democratic judging process, highlighting architecture’s impact on people’s everyday lives with an online vote by the public. In collaboration with its official partners, v2com newswire, AIA New York, Metropolis, and Aesthetica, the 13th Annual A+Awards received hundreds of thousands of public votes from over 80 countries worldwide.
Reflecting the program theme, this season offers a suite of new categories that emphasize craftsmanship, materiality, and contextual approaches—spotlighting the human element of design. This season also sees the addition of categories honoring sustainable building practices, as well as the health and well-being of building occupants. See the complete list of 124 categories here.
"The Architizer A+Awards remind us that the best architecture is not static but adaptive—responsive to climate, culture, and human needs," says Kongjian Yu, Founder & Principal Designer, Turenscape. "These projects don't just solve problems; they spark joy, provoke thought, and reaffirm architecture's enduring role as a force for connection.”
The 14th A+Awards are judged by Architizer’s 250+ jury academy featuring prestigious members of the architecture and design community, as well as luminaries from the art, technology, fashion, media, and real estate industries. Notable jurors include:
