Asher Israelow will speak during The Brooklyn Exchange, a panel discussion with hot up-and-coming designers from New York. Shown is Israelow’s Anamorphic Console. First found in the 15th Century, anamorphic projection was used to pass secret messages or obscure visions within paintings. Now solid walnut and brass inlay compose hidden geometries. This is the first piece in a new vision of handcrafted furniture.

TIMES BUND CLUBHOUSE Club House by Kris LinPROJECT DESCRIPTION:This is a project which combines the functions of both club and sales center. 1st floor is mainly focused on the function of sale center while combining the function of bar and multi-functional conference room. 2nd floor is only for the sales office. Floor B1 is partially the fitness club, which comprising of a theme swimming center, gym, dancing room and basketball room. The design solution is hopefully to break the traditional horizontal and vertical space vision through the approach of innovation. The whole solution utilizes geometric modeling to realize space design and 3D modeling. The solution explores brand new ideas through three-dimensional space and is trying to create a space of body and art, meanwhile focusing on quality in the process of innovation and a careful selection of materials to keep an air of nobility. The building comprises of three floors, floor B1, 1st floor and 2nd floor. Vertical stair space is used to connect the three floors. The stair is designed in a form of flow line as if it flows down from 2nd floor to floor B1 and it is also like a sculpture. Since there are lots of equipments in the ceiling of swimming center and the building roof itself is beveled, so the ceiling space is rugged. For this reason the ceiling of swimming center is designed with the idea of flow wave.

Hills Sales Centre Real estate sales centre by Kris LinPROJECT DESCRIPTION:The project is located in Taiyuan city, Shanxi Province, China. Taiyuan is an ancient city with a history of 4700 years. It is in the middle of Shanxi Highland with many high mountains and hills. Hence the project is given a name Hills with the hope to reflect the human geography. On 1st floor, it is mainly negotiating sofa area, bar, multimedia display area, model display area and reception area. It is hoped that the overall design also could embody the theme of Hills. We adopt sculpture and form the shape of mountain or palisades with three dimensional cutting. In model display area, the design concept is something like a cave. Go through the cave and the steps, it is 2nd floor. It is a tunnel and inside the tunnel, we use three dimensional cutting to represent the cliffy rock in the valley. Color of the wood veneer symbolizes soil. Going through the narrow tunnel, the other end is the bright residential house type display area for Shiwaitaoyuan. In the display area, there are three mock-up with the hope to show a perfect human life and a paradise.

MIX C SALES CENTRE Real estate sales centre by Kris LinPROJECT DESCRIPTION:The original architectural form is a glass square box. The overall interior design can be seen from the outside of the building and the interior design is totally reflected by the elevation of the building. There are four function areas, multimedia display area, model display area, negotiating sofa area and material display area. The four function areas look scattered and isolated. So we applied a ribbon to connect the whole space to achieve two design concepts: 1. connecting the function areas 2. Forming building elevation. 1. Connecting the function areas From the material display area, the ribbon surrounded the negotiating sofa area and flow between the column and glass curtain wall, connecting the model display area, finally flows in heliciform down to the ground while defining the multimedia display area. This make multimedia display area an relatively separate area naturally blended into the overall space. 2. Forming building elevation The original building form of glass box looks empty without a theme. So we add a ribbon into the interior space. The ribbon can not only connect the function areas but also form elevation of the building through glass curtain wall. It is the highlight of the building.
