Thelower deck, shaded beneath the projectingupper floor and nestled against a bedrockoutcropping, stays cool in summer thanksto the cooling effect of the stone and crossbreezes off the lake.

The upper deck, adjacent to the living room,provides sweeping views of the forest andwater on three sides. It features retractablescreens for protection from bugs, and anoutdoor wood-burning fireplace that echoesthe hearth inside, extending enjoyment ofthe outdoors into the colder months.
