Ædifica is pleased to welcome Michel Lauzon as Senior Partner and Vice President, Design & Strategy.
Michel Lauzon brings to Ædifica an impressive body of work featuring singular and award-winning projects, both local and international. His career took off in 1999 with NOMADE — a start-up firm known for its daring and innovative concepts — where he imagined the masterplan for the Montreal Quartier des Spectacles, won several competitions and designed some of Montreal’s most notable projects such as the M9 residential complex (Phases 1 & 2), for which he co-developed the bold new concept. Michel then expanded his design innovation reach at Lemay, as Chief Creative Officer for the last eight years. In this capacity, he directed the design of numerous award-winning projects such as the STM’s Stinson Transportation Hub, Lumenpulse HQ, Artopex showrooms, the Mount Stephen Hotel and Ubisoft studios; during his tenure, his creative team also won prestigious international design competitions such as Hassan II promenade in Casablanca (Morocco),
new town of El-menia in Constantine (Algeria) and the Metlife building repositioning in New York.
A seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience, Michel is a true transdisciplinary creative mind, mastering high-level design proficiency on projects of all types and sizes, in the fields of architecture, interiors and urban design. He is well versed in international best practices and has honed unique added-value strategic design services including “brandscaping”, building repositioning and experiential design.
“Michel’s arrival strengthens our firm’s integrated vision, where design transcends the boundaries of discipline to deliver a highly strategic service that creates tangible benefits for users and communities. He has a proven ability of merging design and identity to generate innovative solutions that address real-life issues while anticipating future needs and trends. In joining Ædifica, Michel will greatly enhance the value and synergy of our design services, for our clients as well as for their constituents,” explains Michel Dubuc, President of Ædifica.
“I consider it a great privilege to join the creative leadership of Ædifica, a pioneering collective I’ve always admired for being at the forefront of the design industry. I intend to actively contribute to the team’s culture of innovation and sustainability, as well as promote its uniquely integrated design vision – one that fosters positive change in people’s lives,” adds Michel Lauzon.
Since 1985, Ædifica unites a wide range of design experts around a common vision to create meaningful and singular places, where innovation, sustainability and the art of building converge at the core of every project. Our firm empowers more than 200 talents from every design discipline, with headquarters in Montreal (Canada), an engineering group in St-Louis (USA) and offices in Port-au-Prince (Haiti) and New York City (USA).
