The five members of this year’s high-calibre jury – planner and landscape ecologist Nina-Marie Lister of Plandform, interior designer Alessandro Munge of Studio Munge, industrial designer Theo Richardson of Rich Brilliant Willing, architect Nader Tehrani of NADAAA, and designer Michael Vanderbyl of Vanderbyl Design – came together in Toronto in March and selected the best from the 813 innovative, groundbreaking and visually stunning architecture and design projects submitted. The list of finalists is now available for viewing online, and the public is invited to vote for their favourites from each of the 20 categories during the annual People’s Choice, from April 6 to May 5.
On June 23, top players in the architectural and design community from Canada and across the globe will gather for the 2017 AZ Awards Gala at Toronto’s historic Evergreen Brick Works, to network and celebrate all the winners and finalists, including the People’s Choice.
The winning designs and projects will be featured in Azure ’s July/August issue, on newsstands at the end of June. This special issue will be packed with the best in furniture, lighting, architecture, interiors and landscapes from around the world. Also included are visionary concepts, exciting temporary spaces, extraordinary student work and outstanding experiential graphic design.
The 2017 AZ Awards is presented by Audi, Cosentino, DXV, Keilhauer and Rado, and sponsored by TD Bank Group, Urban Capital and George Brown School of Design.
The AZ Awards Gala is sponsored by: Alpi, Bauhaus and Euro-Line.
