Meljac Expands its Range of Brass Reading Lamps with the Bambou Model

Meljac, the French leader in luxury electrical fittings, has launched a new brass reading lamp, Bambou, developed in collaboration with FD Éclairage. This model, which bears the prestigious “Origine France Garantie” label, blends a sophisticated design with ease of use, reflecting the complementary expertise that characterises the two French brands.

The collection now has three models with contrasting designs – Tulipe, Roseau and Bambou, each of which can be combined with different plate formats, with or without visible screws, in one of the many choices of finish in the Meljac colour chart.

Precision lighting allied with elegant brass

Designed to provide an enjoyable reading experience, the Bambou reading light offers exceptional lighting quality, drawing on the expertise of FD Éclairage, acquired by Meljac in 2025. The LED lens provides uniform illumination of 160 lm, with a power output of 1 Watt and a 30° angle. It is available in 3000 or 4000 K and is a welcome addition to Meljac’s collection of reading lamps, created to blend seamlessly into carefully crafted interiors.

Customisable to the last detail

In keeping with the philosophy of bespoke design that characterises Meljac’s collections, Bambou is available in virtually all the brand’s finishes. The different plate formats and toggle or push button designs can be combined to produce an overall effect that perfectly matches the other electrical fittings in the room.

Switches, sockets, thermostats, air conditioning controls and card readers can all be coordinated within the same aesthetic concept, down to the last detail. This is particularly important for high-end hotel projects, where every aspect contributes to the identity of the space and the customer experience.
