Rather than opting for typical extensive use of colour in designing for preschoolers, the design emphasise form in a way that communicates playfulness through the building's architecture; creating a visually free-flowing and spatially connected space promoting free interaction and movement for children.

The form creates a unique self shadow pattern that slides across the exterior surface throughout the day. Playful sinusoidal edge of the exterior turf flows along the form, with a smooth stone finish along the periphery.

Structural complexities in achieving the smooth external skin were resolved with a ferrocement shell integrated above the unique metal structure. The visual effect of this austere material palette ensures visual cohesion.

Le Tinnerbäcksbadet, réalisé par le bureau d'architecture 3XN à environ 200 kilomètres au sud-ouest de Stockholm, se présente comme une composition spatiale aux couleurs chaudes et terreuses. 18 000 m² de carreaux de céramique d'Agrob Buchtal y jouent un rôle essentiel.

Outre les panneaux acoustiques de plafond en laine de bois liée au ciment et les revêtements muraux en lamelles de bois filigranes, le sol à la structure vivante attire l'attention : des carreaux de grès cérame beige au format 600 x 600 mm de la série Savona d'Agrob Buchtal.

Des matériaux et des couleurs naturels : L'atmosphère agréable de la pièce résulte surtout des surfaces de carrelage aux tons chauds de la terre, qui ont notamment contribué à ce que le Tinnerbäcksbadet obtienne le certificat de durabilité suédois Miljøbyggnad en argent.

Pour des raisons de construction, les bassins en acier inoxydable n'entrent pas en ligne de compte pour nous. Le carrelage répond à toutes les exigences techniques, fonctionnelles et esthétiques et fait donc partie intégrante de nos projets, explique Christian Wamberg Rasmussen, architecte chez 3XN.
