YAMAGIWA returns to Milan Design Week after two years, presenting three exceptional lighting collections, including a brand-new release, at Villa Borsani as part of ALCOVA. With over a century of expertise in lighting design, YAMAGIWA will take part in Noritake’s exhibition, blending Japanese craftsmanship with innovative materials with
embodying its philosophy of “The Art of Lighting” on the global stage.
Harmony of Heritage—YAMAGIWA × Noritake
For over 120 years, Noritake has been at the forefront of porcelain artistry, blending advanced techniques with sophisticated designs to create refined and innovative tableware. As the first Japanese company to produce a complete dinner set, Noritake has earned global recognition for its enduring contributions to the art of tableware.
YAMAGIWA’s participation will enrich Noritake’s display with complementary lighting solutions, highlighting their shared commitment to precision and timeless design while offering a fresh perspective on the interplay of light and space.
Both brands are proud official licensees of the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation in the United States, dedicated to preserving Wright’s legacy through products that seamlessly blend traditional aesthetics with contemporary innovation. This meaningful connection has led to YAMAGIWA’s inclusion in Noritake’s exhibition, further reinforcing their aligned design philosophies.
Noritake Design Collection
In celebration of its 120th anniversary milestone, Noritake introduces the “Noritake Design Collection”, developed under the visionary creative direction of Yuichiro Hori. This signature collection brings together world-renowned designers whose distinctive visions are meticulously realized through Noritake’s exceptional craftsmanship. Making its debut at Milan Design Week, the collection embodies the perfect fusion of heritage and innovation, redefining contemporary porcelain artistry for a new era.
Space curated by Faye Toogood
Faye Toogood, a British designer, has curated the exhibition space by artfully selecting YAMAGIWA's lighting fixtures. Her curation enhances the subtle interplay between light and space, creating a refined and harmonious ambiance that organically complements the unique environment of Villa Borsani.

- RAI collection: Inspired by traditional Japanese lantern-making techniques, the new RAI collection reinterprets time-honored materials with a Contempo sensibility, creating a warm and ethereal glow that evokes a sense of tranquility and sophistication.
- JAKOBSSON LAMP collection: Originally designed by Swedish designer Hans-Agne Jakobsson, the JAKOBSSON LAMP collection features distinctive pinewood shades that gently diffuse light. Inspired by the organic beauty of the Nordic landscape, this collection evokes the enveloping warmth of a bonfire, bringing a touch of Scandinavian design to YAMAGIWA’s craftsmanship.
