Toronto, Canada, 2012-01-31 - Azure magazine announces the jury for the second annual AZ Awards, an international competition celebrating excellence in design.

JEFFREY BERNETT
Designer Jeffrey Bernett is founder of NYC’s Consultants for Design Strategy, and his first furniture collection presented at ICFF received the “Best of Show” Editor’s Award. He has worked with B&B Italia, Bernhardt, Boffi, Cappellini, Design Within Reach, Herman Miller, Knoll, and Ligne Roset.

ELAINE CECCONI
Founding partner of Toronto interior design firm Cecconi Simone, the award-winning designer has collaborated on high-profile projects worldwide, including City Square in Shenzhen, Nation Towers in Abu Dhabi, and numerous residential developments across North America. Elaine Cecconi also consults for such manufacturers as Moen and Kohler.

JENNIFER GUTHRIE
Jennifer Guthrie is a director of the Seattle landscape architecture firm Gustafson Guthrie Nichol, whose clients include the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Campus. In 2011, GGN received a Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt’s National Design Award.

MIKE KEILHAUER
President of award-winning Canadian seating manufacturer Keilhauer – recognized as one of Canada’s 50 best-managed companies by Arthur Andersen & Co. – Mike Keilhauer is an Honorary Member of ARIDO and member of the World President’s Organization.

BRIGITTE SHIM
Partner in Toronto’s Shim-Sutcliffe Architects – recipient of 11 Governor General’s medals and awards in architecture, and a National Honor Award from the AIA – Brigitte Shim is a professor at the University of Toronto, as well as visiting professor at Yale and Harvard.

BEN VAN BERKEL
Co-founder of the Amsterdam-based architectural practice UNStudio, Ben van Berkel is responsible for such award-winning projects as Galleria Centercity in South Korea and the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart. He was recently appointed the Kenzo Tange Chair at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design.

Our international jury will convene in Toronto in March. The chosen winners will be featured in the AZ AWARDS ANNUAL, on newsstands June 2012.
