The Stûv 6-in has a sleek look that suits the authenticity of masonry fireplaces, as well as any style of home decor. It stands out due to its streamlined door frame, providing an ample view of the fire, and its smaller insert dimensions, designed to fit easily into existing masonry hearths. This unit was engineered to offer a heating capacity adapted to the energy needs of today's homes, while creating a cozy atmosphere reminiscent of the crackling wood fires of yesteryear.
A wood-burning insert that transcends time
Many ancestral homes have a masonry hearth. Unfortunately, these fireplaces, which date back to another era, are not adapted to current environmental guidelines. They are not airtight, and thus emit fine particles at a rate well above North American standards. The Stûv 6-in wood-burning insert was designed to make these hearths more efficient and environmentally friendly.
The new and growing Stûv 6 family of products currently includes two models. Several other sizes will soon be available in North America.
Ingenuity in every detail
Ingenious mechanisms were incorporated in Stûv 6-in’s design to ensure optimal use. These include a handle in a cool area beneath the appliance, a detachable support casing that facilitates installation, a bimetal system that favours air intake and makes it easier to light a fire when the appliance is cold, and a slanted smoke outlet option to connect to a chimney pipe further away. The Stûv 6-in also features a hinged door with two hooks for extra solidity and an airtight seal, and a cast iron combustion chamber that provides high heat resistance and maximizes performance. Finally, the Stûv 6-in is autonomous thanks to its factory-configured air intake, which delivers just the right amount of air to the combustion chamber for peak efficiency. Gone are the days of fiddling with the damper to get the perfect air flow! Simply light the fire, sit back, and enjoy.
Different finishing frames can be selected to complete the look. The thin edge frame is delicate, with an understated look that creates a discreet finish. The picture-type frame is made of steel and is available in different widths. The latter is ideal for larger masonry hearths, as it creates a polished finish all around the unit’s facade.
