MAB, a pioneering force in the field of architecture, design, and marketing, is thrilled to announce the inaugural Metaverse Architecture Biennale (MAB), "Presence of the Future" 2023.

This exhibition will take place from September 21st to October 6th, beginning with a captivating public program from September 21-24. The event will bring together top creators from around the world to manifest the significance of architecture and design in reshaping Web3 and the Metaverse as a powerful platform for business and creativity. MAB will be hosted on Decentraland and W3rlds platforms and will be open to everyone for free, requiring only a computer with internet access. 

Inspired by the Venice Biennale and Expo, the Metaverse Architecture Biennale showcases virtual pavilions and worlds created by architects standing in the avant-garde of digital design, including such names as Killa Design, LAVA, PLP, ATRIUM, Soomeen Hahm, Spaces DAO, DA!, Il Prisma, Syntaxis, SA lab, iheartblob, OBMI, Mariana Cabugueira Studios, and Illusorr.

Moreover, 17 participants from around the world were chosen out of more than 90 entries through an open call to contribute their projects to the Biennale alongside architects invited by the curators. The talented studios include Meta Architects, Q63, PROm7 (by LABVA PRO), UIC Barcelona, Untitled. by Maria Touloupou, Space Lane, Shashwat Prakhar, Dariana Andrei, AXI+, Leonardo Marchesi, Experimentarq, NESA, NTAR, MFSG6, Akash Deep Ravichandran, Ostashova_architects, and The Ninjas.

The Metaverse Architecture Biennale covers two distinct platforms - Decentraland and W3rlds - and each participating architect is creating one installation for each platform, meaning that there will be more than 60 spaces in total. Attendees will have the opportunity to teleport between the two worlds, exploring virtual pavilions, engaging in interactive exhibits, and connecting with a global community of creators. Decentraland is providing a big plaza for the Biennale, resembling an expo site, where architects' pavilions will be showcased among partner pavilions and several public spaces with installations, lecture halls, and party venues. Dearch Space and Metancy agencies are responsible for the design and production of the expo-site and events that will take place there.

The true essence of the Biennale lies in its public program, scheduled from September 21st to 24th. It will feature cultural and entertainment events, including opening and closing ceremonies, lectures, public talks, an Architecture Carnival, and more. The lecture program is promising a one-of-a-kind lineup of design and Web 3 industry leaders, architects, and innovators, including representatives of Zaha Hadid Architects, UNStudio, HWKN, DressX, Artisant, MetaTrekkers, WOW Summit, Bem Builders, and other companies. Topics to be discussed will include “From Metaverse platforms to the Metaverse”, “The Rise of Digital Fashion: What Can We Learn from the Industry in the Avant-Garde of Web3 Culture?”, “Virtual Architecture Experiments and Practice,”, “Business of Web3 and Metaverse: Trends, Expectations, and Real Cases,” and many more.

In addition to amazing architectural expositions, the event will feature pavilions by companies leading Web 3 culture and innovation and growing its community such as Artisant, DressX, WOW Summit, Women of The Future, and Designboom.

We truly believe that architecture will play an integral part in the creation of the Metaverse, just as graphic design did in shaping the internet we use today," said Sergey Nadtochiy, co-organizer and curator of MAB.

With over 50,000 visitors expected, from professionals to enthusiasts, dozens of installations, and a selection of tech and design industry leaders, this event aspires to become a global platform for fostering discourse on the Metaverse and digital architecture and showcasing its best practices.

The Metaverse platforms offer visitors an entirely new online experience, and entering them is as straightforward as any other online event. To explore the Biennale on both platforms, visitors only need to open a link in their computer's browser. In Decentraland, two entry options exist: as a guest, the quickest method, or by connecting a Metamask crypto wallet, which can be set up in advance. The second option is recommended to unlock Web 3's full potential, access NFT bonuses, and customize your avatar with unique wearables (don’t forget this option as a way to come prepared for the Carnival). Once registration is complete, teleport to the event address listed in the entry and begin exploring the site. 

For both platforms, you can use arrows to move around. Transitioning from Decentraland to the W3rlds platform is achieved using a portal resembling the MAB logo, found inside each architect's pavilion in Decentraland. To initiate the move, approach the portal and a prompt to press the 'E' button will appear. Press it and you'll be on your way!

Navigating on W3rlds platform is even easier. Just follow the instructions on the screen, and in a couple of clicks you will be immersed in amazing digital worlds. You can also find links to all of the pavilions on the W3rlds platform on the Biennale website. Don't worry if you've never used these platforms before; it's simpler than it sounds.
