Luminaire Authentik, a manufacturer of fully customizable lighting for residential and commercial projects, announces the official opening of its brand-new showroom in the heart of Toronto’s King East Design District. The exceptional new 2,600-square-foot space marks a key milestone in the Canadian expansion of the company, founded in 2015 in Cowansville, Quebec, by Maude Rondeau.

“Eleven years ago, it all started with a small workshop and a big idea. Seeing that vision come to life on King Street is incredibly rewarding. More than a showroom, we wanted to create a vibrant space dedicated to connection, creativity and inspiration,” says founder Maude Rondeau.

A Strategic Presence in Toronto’s Design District
Located at 170 King Street East, the new showroom is four times larger than Luminaire Authentik’s first Toronto location, which opened in 2021. This expanded presence positions the brand at the heart of the city’s Design District—a vibrant hub for interior design, architecture and contemporary furnishings, home to dozens of specialized retailers, international brands and designer showrooms.

The space was designed in collaboration with renowned Toronto-based design firm Mason Studio. The collaboration brings a distinctly local creative perspective to the space, further strengthening Luminaire Authentik’s connection to the city’s design community.

In the same spirit, Luminaire Authentik has built its local team by recruiting Toronto-based designers and artists. This synergy allows the company to offer a client experience that is closely aligned with Toronto’s design culture, while continuing to handcraft every fixture at its workshop in Quebec’s Eastern Townships.

A Creative and Vibrant Concept Store
Designed as a true creative hub for the design community, the new showroom offers a dynamic environment that encourages conversation, collaboration and new ideas.

● The Showroom: The full product catalogue is on display, including pendants, multi-light compositions, wall sconces and ceiling fixtures, as well as the signature Stone, Pivoine, Forma and Core collections.

● The LA Architectural Library: A dedicated resource featuring material samples, finishes, technical specifications and customization options.

● Dedicated Programming: Lunch & Learn sessions, educational activities, product presentations and collaborative gatherings for industry professionals.

● The Gallery: An immersive exhibition space envisioned by Artistic Director Jeremy Le Chatelier, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process, prototyping and R&D, along with an exclusive preview of collections currently in development.

Blending product discovery, professional resources, educational programming and artistic exploration, Luminaire Authentik’s new Toronto showroom was envisioned as a dynamic destination where the architecture and design community can connect, exchange ideas and find inspiration.

Looking ahead to Luminaire Authentik’s future, Maude Rondeau shares: “It already has me dreaming about what comes next. Our ambition has never simply been to open stores. It has always been about creating spaces that inspire. Toronto makes me want to take that vision even further.”

Following Toronto, the custom lighting company plans to open locations in Quebec City and Vancouver in 2027.
