Since 1983, Provencher Roy + Associés Architectes, ONE OF THE leadING LIGHTS in Canadian urban architecture, has provided architectural, urban planning and design, AND interior programming and design services to its national and international clients. It OWES ITS diverse TALENTS TO the experience of its two founders, Claude Provencher and Michel Roy, as well as ITS MORE THAN 130 COLLABORATORS. Each of the company’s creations reflects AN absolute commitment to socially engaged, sustainable architecture.
The architectural milieu is UNDERGOING a unique creative renaissance that is echoed in major transformations of living environments. With it comes a growing desire to design spaces that are more open to the cityscape, bathed in light, functional, comfortable, and more attuned to us and our needs.
Provencher Roy + Associés sees each project as creating an identity that is in harmony with its environment, and as an exercise in improving quality of life in the urban, social and built environment.
The exhibition provides an insight into this process, which is above all creative, relevant, and responsive to the needs of clients and users, BUT ALSO respects program requirements as well as the building site and context.
THE creative process is illustrated in a presentation of landmark projects which affords a glimpse into life in a studio, where projects actually take shape. This micro-environment is the womb of architectural creation and the locus of a host of activities that CONTRIBUTE TO THE PROCESS.
The exhibition reveals the entire development process, the creative environment and the team spirit that pervades the studio.
