The University Center building sets a high bar for energy performance and will serve as a baseline for future campus development. A large array of photovoltaic panels at the roof is dramatically exposed as the building’s cornice, cantilevering beyond the south façade.

Replacing 80,000 sf of impervious asphalt, the new pedestrian-scaled landscaping includes seating pockets that foster social interactions and low-impact raingardens for stormwater infiltration. A below-grade cistern captures rain fall from the roof and reusing it for toilet flushing and irrigation.
