Canadian firm Blouin Orzes architectes is proud to announce its participation in Time Space Existence, a major group exhibition organized by the European Cultural Centre (ECC). The event will take place in the heart of historical Venice, from May 10 to November 23, 2025, during the duration of the 19th edition of the International Venice Architecture Biennale. The architects will be available prior to the official opening, May 8 and 9, to answer questions from the media.
Blouin Orzes’ participation revolves around their first-hand understanding of Inuit territories where they have been working since 2000. Visitors to Palazzo Mora, which will host their presentation (Stand 207 D), will be able to get the feeling “they are travelling along with Blouin Orzes as they meet Elders for a consultation meeting, or traverse challenging terrain in blizzards." These comments by Toronto architect Mason White refer to Blouin Orzes’ recent publication, Northern Journeys, which served as a source of inspiration for their Venice exhibition.

Blouin Orzes architectes
Blouin Orzes architectes (formerly Marc Blouin Architecte) have been working in Canada's northern villages since 2000. Their projects can now be found in Nunavik, Nunavut, and in northern Manitoba where they built a research centre for Polar Bears International, a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection of polar bears.
One of their most significant achievements is the Katittavik Cultural Centre, in the community of Kuujjuaraapik on the shores of James Bay. Their last project is a unique long-term care facility intended for Nunavut elders and designed with local traditions in mind.
Blouin Orzes' work was published in Canadian Modern Architecture, 1967 to the present (Princeton Architectural Press and Canadian Architect, 2019) as well as in Critical Skills for Solving Design Problems (Images Publishing, 2021). In 2020, the firm received the Emerging Voices Award from the prestigious Architectural League of New York. The following year, they appeared in The Canadian Architect’s Twenty + Change: Emerging Talent.
