A custom carpet, with varying loop and pile heights, was mapped out within the furniture layout to ensure blush shadows would highlight specific areas, like where the leg of a chair meets the floor.

Finishes on the main level are layered with both warmth and definition. Douglas fir flooring is paired with brushed limestone tiling in the foyer and larch, used to encase the half-turn stairs.

To enhance spatial flow between the dining and living areas, we designed a 16-foot sofa that encircles the fireplace. A custom solid white oak bench follows its outer curvature, transforming what could have been wasted or unusable space.

The desk in the office is designed to the dimensions of the room as a guide with a gentle angle to allow it to stand freely in the room rather than be pushed to the edges of the wall. Its construction is simple and beautiful, with soft corners and traditional dowelled legs. Finished with a sliding drawer with an abd tbar, there is a spot for hiding the essentials.
