Figurr Architects Collective is pleased to announce the appointment of three new associates to our leadership group. Senior Partner, Stephen Rotman, offered his congratulations to the new associates: "The partners are honoured to have these three architects working with us on the leadership team. Melissa Du Plessis, Keith Johnson, and Maud Joubert have become instrumental leaders with the firm. They have demonstrated passion for our firm's clients and the work that we do, and they personify our values. These individuals have contributed an ongoing commitment to the firm's growth. Melissa Du Plessis, OAA, CPHD
Melissa joined Figurr Architects collective in 2017, and she has proven herself as a strong leader and valuable team member. Melissa has diverse experience in designing mixed-use residential projects, retirement residences, and institutional and commercial buildings for both public sector and non-profit organizations. Melissa is a Certified Passive House Designer, and she is leading the development of some of our most complex sustainability projects. Melissa received her Master of Architecture from the Azrieli School of Architecture & Urbanism at Carleton University.
Keith Johnson, OAQ
Keith has worked with Figurr Architects Collective for over fifteen years, specializing in aviation training centres. Working with senior partner, Rick Rubin, he has led the firm's aviation training centre projects on all continents, worldwide. He has been involved in numerous projects, including in the educational, industrial, and commercial fields. He has extensive experience with the private sector, the Government of Canada, First Nations communities, and regional school boards. Keith holds a Master of Architecture from the State University of New York in Buffalo, New York and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Maud Joubert, OAQ
Maud has been practicing architecture for over twenty years in various fields, including the public and private sectors. Her career has focused on institutional projects, including higher education, community service buildings, and fire stations. She has extensive experience working with First Nations and Inuit communities. Maud is a skilled communicator and project manager who instills trust in her clients and team members through her thoughtful and attentive approach to project management. Maud received her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Montreal.

Figurr Architects Collective is an award-winning firm with offices in Montreal and Ottawa. Initially founded in 1989 by Rick Rubin and Stephen Rotman, they now lead the firm alongside Roberto Campos, Bruno Morin, and Pascale Tétrault. The team is comprised of some forty-five architects, designers, technicians, and other professionals. Figurr Architects Collective serves local, national, and international clients from the corporate, multi-unit residential, aviation, and institutional sectors, as well as numerous First Nations communities across Canada.
